What if genies, beyond their oil lamps, had a place of their own? A jar transformed according to their wishes, a refuge shaped by desires? For genies are made only of that: expressed dreams. With the participation of residents of all generations, Samuel Trenquier unfolds his colorful imagination to envision ideal dwellings for genies—a series of painted jars scattered throughout Parc Albert-René.

In this park, Le Havre residents have been taking their cycling proficiency test for generations, navigating a miniature replica of roads, roundabouts, and traffic signs. For one summer, the painted jars transform the park into a small city of imaginary characters. On their surfaces, everyday elements and mythological references interact, forming a vibrant, multicolored assembly of collected wishes and invented stories.

Since 2017, Le Grand Casino du Havre – Groupe Partouche has supported an artwork as part of its contribution to the cultural influence of the city of Le Havre. For the 2026 season of Un Été Au Havre, the artistic director of Groupe Partouche, Linda Morren, selected Geniuses Get Their License Too, created by Samuel Trenquier.

This project was created with the participation of children from leisure centers, young people who have dropped out of school and are supported by the Maison du Cœur, as well as members of senior clubs and independent-living residents.

Samuel Trenquier benefited from the support of the Fort de Tourneville during his artist residency.
