This workshop offers an introduction to pastel painting, inspired by Claude Monet’s famous painting.
This summer, Un Été Au Havre and the MuMa are running an open-air creative workshop on the Southampton quay, next to Guillaume Aubry’s monumental installation Sur le Motif.
Conceived as a contemporary response to Claude Monet’s Impression, Sunrise, this work encourages visitors to observe, frame and interpret the scenery. In a booth open to everyone, both children and adults are invited to practice drawing « en plein air », following a few simple instructions and using paper and pastels.
The finished works will then be displayed in the MuMa’s educational area, in tribute to the master of Impressionism.

Opening times of the booth:
- From June 27 to August 30 : every day from 10am to 6pm ;
- From September 3 to September 20 included : only on weekends, from 10am to 18pm.
*Drawing « En plein air » is the translation of painting « sur le motif , which is Guillaume Aubry’s work title.
