Futuro House

Hanging gardens

Designed in 1968 by Finnish architect Matti Suuronen who wanted to make a small, easy-to-assemble ski chalet, Futuro House has become iconic with its vintage flying saucer look. For lack of buyers, fewer than 100 models of this small 50 m² alien spacecraft were manufactured; made up of 16 fiberglass-reinforced plastic panels, it can easily be bolted together within 48 hours. Its interior, made up of modular partitions, comes in orange or red. Located near the Hanging Gardens, Craig Barnes’ Futuro House is one of the only 60 remaining copies of this amazing structural masterpiece. The British artist discovered in a Southern African garden in 2013 and brought it home to England where he meticulously restored it back to life. A musical soundtrack by Vincent Epplay enriches the tour. The French musician and artist wanted to «recreate a 1960’s science-fiction atmosphere by mixing analog synths with concrete sounds.» Are you ready to go back to the Futuro?
