While the title references the legendary American band from the 1970s, also known by the acronym BÖC, it also alludes to one of Richard Fauguet's preferred materials: the oyster shell.
The artist's work unfolds across various media—drawings, collages, rubbings, sculptures, and more. Informed by art history and subcultures, his practice delights in blending references from diverse realms, creating a unique and often offbeat dialogue. This expansive and original body of work is showcased in the Le Havre exhibition.
“I start from the familiar to shift things and make quick associations that lead to collages. This results in pieces, sculptures, drawings, or a collection of things that may seem formally quite different from one another, but in reality, aren't that much.”
