Mali Arun is a filmmaker and artist. A resident at the Villa Medici in Rome during 2023–2024 as a screenwriter, she is working there on her first feature-length fiction film. She has directed films selected at several film festivals such as Clermont-Ferrand, Locarno, Cabourg, and Visions du Réel, where she won the Grand Prix Burning Lights in 2019. Her work has also been recognized at the Tous Courts Festival in Aix-en-Provence, where she received the Jury Prize; at the Point Doc Festival, where she earned the Jury's Coup de Cœur; and at the Contis Festival, where she received a Special Mention. Her short film Feux was broadcast on Arte as part of the program Court-Circuit. In recent years, her work has been exhibited at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, the Foam Museum in Amsterdam, and the Lyon Biennale.
