The Story of
Fixity

Le Portique presents The Story of Fixity, a project by artist Noémie Goudal, whose work explores landscape, the relationship to nature, and the emotions evoked by encounters with environments and the wider universe.

On the ground floor, porcelain sculptures from the Sèvres manufactory, part of a series titled Terrella, recount various attempts to model and represent the world, shaped by shifting scientific hypotheses. The artist also proposes a form of capturing the world and its different layers that structure living systems, in collaboration with Artangel (which supports artistic creation in the UK and internationally), through an immersive installation that places at its core a fundamental and constitutive element of landscapes: water.

Like living paintings—constantly evolving landscapes—four screens generate new, shifting, and colorful reliefs whose outlines continuously vary. A natural symphony, accompanied by a soundscape, invites contemplation.
