A COLOSSAL RADIANT WHITE CONCRETE FRAME BETWEEN THE SEA AND THE CITY
Permanent work of art
Playing with the perspective of the Porte Océane, artists Sabina Lang and Daniel Baumann installed a white structure with angular outlines on the beach, in line with the axis of the Avenue Foch designed by Auguste Perret. The sculpture rises from the pebbles like a huge frame standing out from the horizon. Monumental and stylish at the same time, this radiant white artwork delighted the locals and visitors during Un Été Au Havre 2017. After such a success, the City of Le Havre decided to keep UP#3. Dismantled at the beginning of the following winter, the structure was completely overhauled by its two designers. Now made of concrete, the artwork returned to its initial location for Un Été Au Havre 2018... and will remain there for a long time !
Permanent artwork sponsored by VINCI Construction France and its subsidiary GTM Normandie.
