Discovery tour: Waterside

This 1,200-unit residence was built by architects George Candilis and Jacques Lamy between 1966 and 1985. It emancipates itself from the principles of alignments used by the Atelier Perret. 
Within a five-hectare plot, the spatial organization is governed by a hexagonal grid. 
The model here is that of the beehive and the honeycomb, this "megastructure" asserting its independence from the rest of the city.
