This summer again, Le Tetris sets music aside for a while to become the digital arts and culture hotspot in Normandy.
Multimedia and digital creation have opened new avenues of artistic exploration that many artists have taken, such as Lawrence Malstaf, Alex Verhaest, Marco Barotti, Julie Stephen Chheng, or the in-dialog and l-minuscule collectives, all guests of this third edition of Exhibit!
A journey to a fantasy world at the crossroads of art, technology, and emotions.
Flemish visual artist and performer Lawrence Malstaf feels his creative universe sits on the edge of visual arts and drama. On the occasion of his large-scale exhibition at Le Tetris, the visitors will be sensorially immersed and invited to explore and observe.
Alex Verhaest presents an eminently pictorial work based on the juxtaposition of painting and video. Fascinated by the aesthetics of the Renaissance paintings, lulled by the world of video games, she uses pixels to depict a broken family in her digital paintings.
With their interactive artworks, Marco Barotti and Julie Stephen Chheng will connect real or dreamed nature to the digital world, using either augmented-reality animated animals from Japanese mythology or woodpecker robots which come to life when in contact with the electromagnetic frequencies that surround us.
Exhibit! is also a playground for experimentation and for a better understanding of the digital universe. With this in mind, the FabLab workshop is open to all those who wish to discover the creative possibilities offered by digital tools.
Several meetings and workshops will also be held to open up new perspectives on the digital world around us.
Exhibit! is sponsored by the Normandy Region, Un Été Au Havre, Le Havre Seine Métropole, DRAC Normandie, and the City of Le Havre.
