For over 20 years, La Compagnie Carabosse has invited people of all ages to embark on a marvelous, fantastic, fun, and poetic journey by setting fire to public spaces. Each fire display – sometimes designed for a whole city or district – is a unique creation which transforms the place it is set in. Through the use of unique steel structures, mechanisms, automatons, and machines designed especially to take into account the historic and architectural context of the place, the company reinvents and redesigns our surroundings the time of a night stroll.
The trademark of the world famous Compagnie Carabosse is its ability to handle, transform, and play with fire in all its forms. It is composed of artists coming from various fields : designers, scenographers, builders, comedians, handymen, poets, musicians, inventors, photographers, plasticians... Over time, the company has widened its playing field by creating new kinds of performances, such as Article 13, an installation/performance/documentary in which humans play an important and symbolic role.
