Along the Boulevard de Strasbourg, you can admire buildings of pre-war architectural style; indeed, its western part has been preserved: public buildings such as the Law Courts or the Sub-Prefecture are next to the buildings of the great shipping companies or the trading houses that have marked the history of Le Havre. The ornaments which decorate the facades of these buildings, give us clues on their former functions. 

At the corner of the street, next to the Law Courts, is one of the first realizations of the Le Havre architect William Cargill, who set up his office there in 1906. This prestigious building features bow windows and a corner turret.
