Discovery tours A Summer in Le Havre 2017
Four cultural tours have been designed around the city: discover the works of art created and installed in the public space to celebrate Le Havre’s 500th anniversary - visit the prestigious exhibitions held to mark the event - admire the emblematic monuments that make up Le Havre’s architectural landscape, from the city center area listed as a UNESCO world heritage site, to the harbor basins and the heights above the city.
In 2017, to celebrate the 500th anniversary of its creation, Le Havre was given a new lease of life and became a trendy city ! This is due in large parts to the remarkable events organised as part of the A Summer in Le Havre 2017 celebrations, which meant that Le Havre was THE place to be from May to October 2017. Over 2 million visitors were here to wish a happy birthday to Le Havre ! (Re)discover the A Summer in Le Havre 2017 programme: the works of art to discover as you follow one of the discovery tours, but also all the events, exhibitions, etc.
As part of the celebrations of the 500th anniversary of the city, several plasticians, designers, graphic artists, stage directors, and writers gathered in Le Havre – under the artistic direction of Jean Blaise – with the sole purpose of shedding a new light on the city.
